About Tune Gardener

Updated on

Tune Gardener is an independent buying-guide site for yard machines. We help you pick a lawn sweeper, a dethatcher or a garden tiller that fits your yard and your budget.

You don't need to know the jargon. We explain the terms that matter, like hopper size, tine type and working width, in plain words.

What we cover

Right now our guides cover three kinds of machines. Each one has its own section of the site.

  • Lawn sweepers: push models for leaves and grass, and tow-behind models for riding mowers and ATVs.
  • Dethatchers: corded, cordless and tow-behind machines, plus dethatching rakes.
  • Tillers: gas rototillers, rear-tine tillers, cordless tillers and mini tillers.

We compare models side by side, so you can see the trade-offs before you buy.

How we work

We read the product details, specs and maker information for every machine we cover. We also look at what buyers often say after using one.

Then we write plain guides, matchups and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.

What we don't do

We don't sell any products, and no brand pays us to rank its machines. We have no ties to Agri-Fab, Sun Joe, Greenworks, Earthquake or any other maker.

We don't claim to have tested every machine ourselves. When we pick one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which machines we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
